Number One Contender’s Match: Wes Lee vs. Ilja Dragunov

The match begins with both wrestlers trading punches. Ilja attempts an Enzuigiri, but Lee counters with a kick to the back of Ilja’s head. Dragunov retaliates with two German suplexes, but Lee manages to land on his feet after the third one. Lee follows up with a Bicycle Kick and then a Suicide Dive.

The action goes back and forth as both competitors take a methodical approach. Lee delivers a powerful dropkick and escapes a German suplex with an arm drag. They exchange moves, with Dragunov hitting Lee with a lariat. Dragunov locks in a waist lock and connects with several rolling German suplexes.

They spill to the outside, where Ilja German suplexes Wes into the announce table. Dragunov attempts a powerbomb, but it’s reversed into a hurricanrana. Ilja responds with forearm strikes, and Lee fires back with his strikes, eventually hitting a superkick and a series of other moves. Both men are down. Lee goes for a Spanish Fly, but Dragunov kicks out!

Lee tries a Cardiac Kick, but it’s blocked and reversed. It’s then reversed back into a tornado DDT, but Ilja rolls out of the ring. Lee follows up with a Tope Con Giro and continues to attack Dragunov with headbutts.

Result: Ilja Dragunov wins by pinfall, earning the right to challenge for the NXT Championship.

Post-Match: NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes comes out and exchanges words with Dragunov.

Tiffany Stratton arrives at the arena.

Vic Joseph provides a serious update on Bron Breakker’s post-match attack on Von Wagner. Wagner has suffered a skull injury and, due to his history of such injuries, there’s no clear timeline for his return, and specialists are evaluating his condition.

In-Ring Segment: Baron Corbin

They encounter two individuals who mock Hail, leading to a brawl where Hail and Jayne come out on top. They plan to go shopping together next week.

Dana Brooke vs. Lyra Valkyria

The match sees both competitors countering each other’s moves. Lyra Valkyria delivers a roundhouse kick and a suicide dive. While standing on the top rope, Dana Brooke pulls her legs out from under her, causing her to land on the back of her head. Dana gains brief control, but Lyra fights back with a slam and a kick to the back of the head. Lyra finishes the match with a spinning kick and a top-rope Splash for the win.

Result: Lyra Valkyria defeats Dana Brooke by pinfall.

Post-Match: Lyra extends her hand for a handshake, and Dana hesitantly accepts before attempting a sneak attack, but Kelani Jordan intervenes.

After the Brooke/Valkyria match, the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament is announced.

Eddy Thorpe is interviewed backstage and expresses his determination to deal with Donovan Dijak.

Dijak appears on the screen during Thorpe’s interview and marks his territory by whipping a tree, sending Thorpe walking away.

Dirty Dom and Carmelo Hayes cross paths backstage, and they challenge each other’s contenders to face off in a Champ vs. Champ match next week.

Result: Tyler Bate wins by pinfall with Tyler Driver ’97, earning two points.

Pete “BUTCH” Dunne had an interview backstage. He mentioned that he and Tyler have known each other for a long time, all the way back to Bate’s first match when he was just 15 years old. However, he made it clear that he is not here to reminisce. Instead, he’s here to prove that he’s the toughest person in WWE, and no one brings out his brawler side more than Tyler. They are set to face off next week in a fight.

Tiffany Stratton was shown backstage, working out to prepare for her upcoming match.

Joe Gacy and Ava were at the Schism tree, talking about how the roots are poisoned. They still seemed to be on the same page, but not with the Dyad.

In the locker room, Melo and Trick were sharing some affectionate moments while Wes Lee was seen clearing out his locker in the background, getting rid of a lot of stuff.

They traded pin attempts, and Tozawa landed a German suplex followed by a shining Wizard. Tozawa then hit a missile dropkick and a suicide dive. Frazer turned the tables by cutting off Tozawa and executing a superplex into a spinning neckbreaker to secure the win.

Result: Nathan Frazer wins & earned 2 Points for himself

Mustafa Ali had an interview backstage. He expressed his frustration at his victory over Dragon Lee being questioned. Ali mentioned that he couldn’t control how Dominik Mysterio officiated the match and took action when his hand was raised by Mysterio. He vowed to reclaim the title for NXT and said Dragon Lee would get the first title shot when he wins the belt.

Dragon Lee confronted Ali, claiming that the count was too fast. Mustafa neither agreed nor disagreed and stated that Dragon would get his title shot when he earned it. Dragon Lee made it clear he wasn’t finished with Ali.

Wes Lee was interviewed as he left the arena, admitting that Ilja was the better man that night. He expressed his disappointment at not going to No Mercy and mentioned that he was done, clearing out his locker.

As Wes Lee left, a mystery person in a hoodie attacked Blair Davenport. The hood fell back, revealing it was Gigi Dolin, and security rushed to separate them.
