Seth Rollins Pays Tribute To Late Bray Wyatt By Adding Fiend Mask In World Heavyweight Title Plate

1 years ago By Sports Desk

In a touching and unexpected gesture, WWE superstar Seth Rollins paid homage to the late Bray Wyatt during this week’s RAW. Rollins, who is the current World Heavyweight Champion, showcased his championship side plate, which prominently featured an image of Wyatt’s famous character, The Fiend. The tribute extends WWE’s ongoing efforts to honor Bray Wyatt and Terry Funk, both wrestling legends who have recently passed away.

Rollins used Wyatt’s catchphrase “Yowie Wowie” during his promo, a phrase that Wyatt himself made famous during his time as The Fiend. The sight of Wyatt’s image on the title plate and the use of his line had fans emotional, prompting widespread applause and cheers in the arena.

A Rivalry to Remember

This tribute holds special significance, considering the history between Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt. The two superstars had an epic rivalry that saw several intense bouts, including an unforgettable Hell in a Cell match. The referee had to stop the match when The Fiend displayed incredible resilience, refusing to quit despite being in dire straits.

Their battles culminated in a match in Saudi Arabia, where The Fiend claimed victory over Rollins, eventually becoming one of the last superstars to hold the Universal Championship before it was unified by Roman Reigns.

Future of the Fiend Tribute

While it remains uncertain whether this touching tribute will be a permanent feature on the championship belt, fans and industry insiders alike are moved by Rollins’ gesture. There is speculation that if Rollins successfully defends his title against Shinsuke Nakamura at the upcoming Payback event, the Fiend’s image could potentially become a lasting aspect of the World Heavyweight Title Plate.

This week’s episode of RAW also saw other WWE stars paying homage to Wyatt and Funk by wearing armbands and incorporating lines from their promos. The atmosphere was one of reverence and deep respect for the contributions these wrestling legends have made to the industry.

Upcoming Match

All eyes are now on Seth Rollins as he prepares to defend his World Heavyweight Title against Shinsuke Nakamura this weekend at Payback. If he retains, not only will he solidify his legacy, but he may also provide a lasting platform for the memory of one of his greatest rivals, Bray Wyatt.
