Raúl Rosas Jr. Aspires To Be The Youngest Champion In UFC History

The 18-year-old ‘El Nino Problema’ Raúl Rosas Jr.’s goal of becoming the youngest champion in UFC history remains. The Mexican has (7-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC), who is the youngest fighter on the UFC roster, returns to action this Saturday at Noche UFC, which takes place at T-Mobile Arena. It’s his first fight since he suffered his first professional loss. Despite the setback, Rosas’ ambitious career goals remain the same.

“Everything I’ve said in the past, all the goals I’ve set for myself in the past, nothing has changed. Everything remains the same. I meant everything. If you mention something I said in the past, I’ll still admit it. I still think the same way. Nothing has changed.”

Following his appearance on Dana White’s Contender Series and successful UFC debut, Rosas quickly became one of the most popular rising stars on the UFC roster. This can be a double-edged sword given the nature of the fanbase. After his first loss in April in Miami, he felt the weight of his popularity.

“I received more love than hate. Everyone tells me since I lost that they can’t wait to see me come back, so I appreciate that, but of course, there was hate too. I knew that’s what sport is like.

“Even if Khabib came back and lost, the fans would turn their backs on him. Every time he went to a UFC event and saw a star of the show, he lost, everyone turned their back on him, so we knew from a young age that that’s the sport, so it doesn’t matter.”
