Khabib Nurmagomedov discusses the possibility of his children following in his footsteps and his son’s training regime
Khabib Nurmagomedov is undeniably among the greatest MMA fighters of all time. With a perfect professional record of 29-0, the Dagestani grappling savant is considered the greatest lightweight in UFC history. The former lightweight champion has credited his success to his late father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, who led his son on a path to greatness from a very young age.
It seems āThe Eagleā wants to replicate that for his son if he wishes to pursue a professional fighting career. Nurmagomedov recently claimed that his son has his full support if they want to become MMA fighters. However, they must train everyday religiously even if they donāt want to. Ā
In a recent interview with Patrick Bet-David, the Dagestani MMA legend discussed several topics. During a segment of their conversation, Bet-David asked Nurmagomedov about his son filling in his shoes. Khabib Nurmagomedov replied:
āHe have no choice about one thing. Heās a man, and heās gonna train. He have to be strong. Zero complaints, and now heās like almost six, and he trains every day, and there is no choice. Heās gonna train because if you man, you have to be strong. Honestly, Iām gonna let him choose what he wantsā¦ Iām never gonna push him to become a professional athlete.āĀ
Khabib Nurmagomedov has three children with his wife Patimat. His first daughter is named Fatima and his two sons are called Magomed and Husayn.
Khabib Nurmagomedov names the hardest-hitting opponent heās ever faced
Khabib Nurmagomedov recently opened up about his incredible fighting career and named the one opponent whose strikes felt like being hit by a truck.
As mentioned, āThe Eagleā is undoubtedly one of the greatest fighters to ever step foot inside the cage. Over his 13-fight career in the UFC, Nurmagomedov faced world-class opponents like Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier, Edson Barboza, and Michael Johnson. However, the one opponent whose punching power gave him trouble was Justin Gaethje.
In the same interview with Patrick Bet-David, Khabib Nurmagomedov opened up about his fight against āThe Highlight.ā Claiming that Gaethje was the hardest-hitting striker heās ever faced, Nurmagomedov said:
āI think it was Justin Gaehtje, he hit like a truckā¦He hits like a truck, but it was one thing that broke himā¦ When he hit me, I remember it was a right uppercut and left hook. It was his best shot and I told him, āBrother, is this everything you have?ā¦ And at the end of the first round, he started to get tired.ā
