3 AEW Superstars Who Are Currently Dealing With Injuries

1 years ago By Sports Desk

Wrestling is not just about powerful slams; it’s an athletic endeavour where the potential for injury is around every corner. While fans enjoy the incredible strength and fast-paced drama. But, they often forget the physical toll it takes on the athletes. A single wrong move in coordination can spell disaster. Injuries, minor or severe, can drastically change the trajectory of major storylines, leaving fans and wrestlers both in shock. Events like AEW Rampage and AEW Wrestledream are no exception. These grand stages, which should be the pick of a wrestler’s journey, can be spoiled by unforeseen injuries, making main events subject to abrupt changes. Today, we spotlight three AEW superstars who are suffering from the unfortunate reality of injury and may face the heartbreak of missing out on upcoming events.

Starting with Adam Cole. Adam Cole’s recent revelation has left AEW fans in shock. It all started at last week’s AEW Grand Slam event. As the match between MJF and Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship heated up, Cole made a dynamic entrance. In his rush to assist MJF, he jumped off the entrance ramp. But things didn’t go as planned. Cole’s landing was visibly awkward, causing many fans to worry. His limp during the rest of the segment further heightened concerns.

Soon after the event, rumors about Cole being taken to the hospital began circulating. The air was thick with anxiety and anticipation. Tony Khan, AEW’s President, added to the suspense by avoiding any direct answers regarding Cole’s condition during a media call on Tuesday.

The following week’s episode of Dynamite provided clarity, though not the kind fans were hoping for. Adam Cole appeared, but not in his usual energetic form. He entered the event on crutches, his injured leg. Addressing the crowd, Cole explained the severity of his injury. The awkward fall at the Grand Slam event resulted in three broken bones in his ankle and torn ligaments. Surgery, he confirmed, was necessary.

In a move that showcased his dedication to the wrestling community, Cole expressed his willingness to relinquish the ROH World Tag Team Championships. But, MJF wasn’t ready to let the titles go without a fight. He boldly declared that he would defend the titles on his own against The Righteous at WrestleDream, turning it into a handicap match.

Jon Moxley, a well-known wrestler, is currently dealing with a health issue. During the Grand Slam III episode of Dynamite on September 20, he got hurt. The injury happened when he was competing in a match for the AEW International Championship against another wrestler, Rey Fenix.

During the match, Moxley fell and hit the floor. This fall is believed to have caused him a concussion, which is a type of brain injury. After this, Rey Fenix performed two moves called “Fire Thunder Drivers” on Moxley. Many people, including fans and other wrestlers, were worried about this and criticized it.

On September 27, Tony Khan, the person in charge of AEW, shared news about Moxley on Twitter. He said, “Last week at #AEWDynamite Grand Slam, @ReyFenixMx won the International Title. Both Fenix and former champ @JonMoxley were injured in the bout. AEW Doctors are unable to clear Mox tonight!”

This means that doctors checked Moxley and said he can’t wrestle right now because of his injury. The problem with concussions is that it’s hard to say exactly when someone will get better. So, nobody knows when Moxley will be able to wrestle again. It might take just a few days, or it might take many weeks or even months.

Everyone is hoping for Moxley’s quick recovery. Wrestlers give their all in the ring, and sometimes they get hurt. It’s important to remember that their health comes first. We’ll have to wait and see when Moxley feels good enough to return.

Jamie Hayter, a popular female wrestler, has been facing some health problems for a while. She had a secret injury, which means we don’t know exactly what was wrong. Even when she was the AEW Women’s World Champion, this injury was bothering her. There was a time when she had to step back from a match because doctors said she wasn’t fit to fight.

However, Jamie didn’t stay away for long. She took part in an event called Double or Nothing in 2023. Here, she fought against Toni Storm, another talented wrestler. Jamie and Toni have a history. Jamie had won the AEW Women’s World Title from Toni before. But this time, during their rematch, Toni won and became the champion again.

After that match, Jamie wasn’t seen on AEW’s TV shows. People were wondering about her and hoping she was okay. Some new information has now come out, especially about a big event called All In, which took place on August 27, 2023.

Now, there’s more news about when Jamie might come back. Before, no one really knew when she would return to wrestling. But the new update tells us she might be ready by February 2024. It seems her injuries need a long time to heal.

Everyone is hoping Jamie gets better soon. It’s always tough when a favorite wrestler can’t compete because of health issues. But it’s important that Jamie takes all the time she needs to heal properly. When she’s ready, her fans will be excited to see her back in action.
